Crazy Thoughts

Sometimes I have crazy thoughts,

We all have some I think.

Like toss your phone right off the ledge,

Or stick your finger in her drink.

Not the things we’d want to do,

But would if we were nuts.

The things that boredom wants from you,

To get things livened up.

If crazy thoughts could go unleashed,

It’d be a sight to see.

Grannies streaking through the woods

And jumping out of trees.

Some would shout

And some would sing,

And some might even cry.

Oh yes, t’would be a funny thing,

If crazy ran awry.

Teachers quitting on the spot,

Cops and judges smoking pot.

The anorexics eat a lot

When crazy runs the show.

Dumpster fires,

Open wires,

Workers slashing boss’s tires.

Vegans eating K-Mart flyers.

Crazy is a pro.

Professional at letting loose,

Cocaine sales fly through the roof.

Don’t wait in line to drop that deuce,

That fountain’s warm and waiting.

No more bosses,

No more tension.

Cut your losses,

Fuck the pension.

We’re crazy now,

Way past conventions,

Keep on masturbating.

Life’s more fun when rules get broken.

Steal some candy,

Pick up smoking.

Almost there,

Just keep on stroking.

Trust the crazy you.

This town is yours,

The world’s your pet.

Think it,

Do it,

Never fret.

Have your fun,

But don’t forget,

The payment will come due.

And now’s the part

You hear me say,

No pleasure comes without its pay,

You may have had an awesome day,

By stealing from tomorrow.

But when it’s over,

You can’t run.

Tomorrow almost always comes.

You broke your rules,

You had some fun.

But crazy has its sorrows.

Sure that was cool,

But now you’re broke.

You’ve got no job,

And now you smoke.

What started as a funny joke,

Has truly put you under.

So ‘til I’m old,

Or sick,

Or dead,

The crazy stays inside my head.

I’d rather read a book instead,

And be the one that wonders.
